Its location is near the Old town city hall of Tübingen (das Bürgeramt) where of registering your Tübingen citizenship. In the weekend, there are lots of visitors from other towns, like Reulingen, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe. But most of the time it is the place for university students to chill out. 2. Smoking is allowed outside the restaurant.

Drinks

If you are from European countries, you will know more than me. But for those who are not familiar with alcoholic drinks, I highly recommend a “Radler”. It is not a beer by German standard as it has 50% or more of lemonade or lemon soda. It is a refreshing drink and a good combination with all dishes.

If you a German beer expert, you always know what you want. My personal favourite is “Kristalweizen”. His brother “Hefeweizen” is also a good choice for beginners. Kristalweizen and Hefeweizen are wheat beers. There are several difference between them although they are Weizen. Kristalweizen’s literal translation is “crystal wheat beer”. Unlike Hefeweizen, it is not milky and also as clear as Radler. Also, a lemon slice will be put on top of the Kristalweizen. You cannot see any lemon slice on Hefeweizen, otherwise all German people will hit you as hard as they can. When you’re drinking Hefeweizen, you mouth feels more richer flavours than Kristalweizen. If you want a more refreshing drink but not as refreshing as Radler, Kristalweizen is a good option for you!

Dishes

All dishes are in small portions. You must order two dishes: (1) Spätzle mit Zwiebel und Käse, and (2) Maultaschen. There are no direct translation in English. Please let me know if there are English names of above dishes. “Spätzle mit Zwiebel und Käse” are egg noodles with caramelised onion and Emmental cheese. Maultaschen are dumplings with pork meats, onion and other spices.

Spätzle mit Zwiebel und Käse, Maultaschen, Kristalweizen

My friends and I ordered at least 3 dishes of Spätzle mit Zwiebel und Käse. At that time, we were not sure the taste of Maultaschen. After we tasted it, Maultaschen were amazing!
